simple dressing

Fashion is always fun.

Except when it is tedious. After two pregnancies in two years, my closet is going through a major re haul. I am attempting to shop for classic pieces that won't scream 2017-ish and will work with everything and for anything.

Like every blogger, and fashion conscious, I love stalking Pinterest for street style inspiration. These fashionable ladies show that simple dressing can be very of the moment, yet ultra classic with a simple neck tie. As seen in this Instagram from last summer, a neck scarf can be an easily and effortless way to spruce up a simple jeans and top. While I have re fallen in love {and recently re-found!} my favorite Pucci scarves that will definitely add a pop of color to any outfit, you can get the look for under $30 with this Pucci dupe, this very French inspired polka dot neck scarf or this oversized floral neck scarf.

chloe lauren flats

It is no secret my love for these chloe flats.

As seen in some Insta-stories, I got these for myself for Christmas in Sienna {but haven't been able to wear them due to all the rain we have been getting! currently on sale here}. I think that I might need to talk to someone about my addiction to these ultra feminine scalloped flats, because I could NOT resist and just ordered these navy velvet ones.

BUT, I had to share that there is some amazing Chloe selections on sale, including these scalloped heels in a Valentine's friendly shade, these pink scalloped espadrille flats and these light blue suede scalloped flats.

SIZE NOTE: I recommend sizing up. In my most recent pair, I got a 37 {I am almost always a 7 in shoes} due to the open body, but in all the Chloe flats I have, the other styles have been a 37 1/2.

sweater : GRAY RUFFLE SWEATER here in Lilac

Y'all know that I can't resist a stripe...

...or a ruffle...or a cozy layer. So when this sweater combined all three {AND a budget friendly price point, currently on sale for $31 and here in lilac}, I couldn't click purchase quickly enough.

Lately, I am realizing that I am a mom now, and should probably dress the part. Any moms out there know that daily, if not hourly, out of body experience of realizing these little perfect humans are yours and that you are a mom. If you are like me, you find yourself looking around in shock in your mini van with two cuties staring back at you from the back seat. It truly is beyond rewarding.

Therefore, I have realized that I must dress the part, thus my new found love and apprecaition for the high waisted denim. Thank goodness that it is a current denim trend and there are lots of options, styles and price points available! This pair was purchased on a whim, to go with this sweater, actually for a monochromatic look, but I loved the way the jeans held everything in place. I had never heard or tried this line before, but I am their newest fan! I have also found that this retailer also has great fitting options at a great price point. {My favorites are the High Rise True Skinny and these are another favorite pair, under $100}

instagram roundup

peplum tee

This peplum shirt is the perfect mom shirt: comfy, oversized thermal, peplum for easy nursing access and henley for more nursing options.

And I cannot recommend this St. Anne diaper bag enough. Y'all know that I live for a monogram, but it is so user friendly, I bring it with me everywhere.

houndstooth dress

This flounce silk dress {currently on sale!} is the perfect party dress. There are still some sizes available and it runs large. Even with my mom bod, I am wearing a 4 and it was a little big.

white oversized turtleneck and rockstuds

This day, truth be told, I didn't leave the house until the late afternoon, but I thought that I should at least look cute for my daughter as we sleep trained her brother.

velvet top

A little pre-Christmas green velvet inspiration. This velvet top screams 1990's and I looove it!

Shop some of my current favorite velvet tops.

blush oversized sweater and stripes

This extremely oversized blush open front cardigan had me at hello. With me still getting up in the middle of night for feedings, I want nothing but cozy layers. With our wet winter {yeah!}, the midnight layer that I slip on, tends to be a daytime layer as well. So this cozy blush cardigan {it also comes in gray and olive} is the perfect mom layer.

Parisian street style

At the top of my 'chic list' is the unassuming French women.

I am very excited for upcoming Fashion Weeks to get inspiration from street style, mainly the Parisian variety. The women always looks pulled together, simple yet classic and make me want to rework all the basics in my closet and stock up on new ones.

These photos have me wanting to stock up on all the Zara coats currently on sale {this check coat and this double breasted coat are my current favorites}, purchase these bow flats and add anything in gray to my online shopping cart {such as this gray mock turtleneck paired with this gray cashmere scarf }.

I love our bed.

Lately, I have been spending more time there than normal, but even when I have plans to be out of there for 30 minutes, I quickly make it. I love to walk down the hallway to see our navy monogram and crisp bedding. Somehow it has stayed white and inviting even with two kids and a large dog.

Shop my navy striped sheets here and my monogrammed shams here.

winter pastels

sunglasses : RAY-BAN AVIATORS

I totally forgot about these outfit photos.

Maybe because they were the first ones that I took after having my son, and my jeans were zipped, but not the most comfortable and they produced not the cutest muffin top {#momtruth}. Nevertheless, I recently found them on my computer and wanted to share that just because it is cold outfit, your pastels don't have to wait until spring to make an an appearance.

While I am envious of the white winters that I stalk on Instagram, this is pretty perfect for a San Diego winter. A sweater and jeans tend to do. This pink cambridge cable turtleneck is currently on sale and I love any cashmere, but especially in a beanie.

velvet peplum top

I am loving all the velvet right now, and this peplum top is currently on sale!

navy lace bell sleeve

I am beyond obsessed with this navy lace bell sleeve dress. I wore this for our first {and, so far, only!} date night out over the holidays and I can't wait to wear it again.

I've included some of my favorite great navy lace selections below.

I wear this vest daily. I may even have it on now.

And I have a thing for navy shoes and navy, anything really. But, you already knew that.

These lace up flats are the perfect pop and I felt uber festive pairing them with plaid pants.

original post here.

I love a great monochromatic look, as it is a super easy way to be chic, timeless and ready for anything on your agenda.
