late summer salad

With the temperature making us all believe that it is still summer, today I am sharing a late summer salad I recently made on a whim that was too good not to share.
  • a box of cherry tomatoes
  • between 4-6 ears of corn
  • feta cheese
  • 1-2 avocado

cut the cherry tomatoes

Boil the corn for about 7 minutes, then place in a ice bath until cool. This will ensure that the corn is cooked, but still has a fresh crunch. {The cooling stops the corn from continuing to cook while on the cob.}

Using this tool, that will cut {pun intended!} down on time, cut the corn off the cob, adding to the tomatoes, breaking it apart with your hands.

Add feta cheese to taste and garnish with avocado.

clean out your closets, ladies!

I have a really funny hobby: I live for a great closet clean out and I like to eBay. I have turned it into a bit of a business off and on throughout the years, and have helped many friends and friends of friends clean out their closet by selling their items on eBay.

The great news for you, is I currently have space to take on a couple of clients and would love to help you clean out your closet. Items that do well are anything designer, J.Crew, Lululemon, Tory Burch, and accessories. Please email me at navy and orange blog {at} gmail {dot} com if you would like more information.

Past clients have sent me a box {or boxes} of items, letting me know of desired price limits and I do the rest! You get to shop filling in your newly acquired closet space and I send you a check making it guilt free.

Email me with any questions as I only have space for couple of clients at this time.

last plane ride

{ Linen Sweater // Scarf, from India, similar nude scarf // Preggo Leggings, c/o // similar suede loafers // Ray-Ban aviators}

These photos were taken on our last airplane trip to San Francisco. The weather was colder than San Diego, but I still think that I was the only person in a sweater.  These leggings were the perfect thing to wear as the weather fluctuated, our day of walking around and the perfect thing to wear on my last plane ride for months to come.

Thank you to Preggo Leggings for the leggings!

scalloped slumber

I think that our monogrammed bedding might need an update. It is quite similar to the blue ones pictured above but I have fallen in love with the neutral ones. Perfect for all my maternity naps.

black and white

Dressing has become quite interesting. I have tried to keep my maternity shopping comfy, classic and versatile, and I know that this top fits the bill on all three. While it is considered maternity, I am quite excited to pair it with these faux leather leggings post bump. After stalking New York Fashion week, and with no end in sight for a classic white top, I know that this will not get stored away with my maternity wear.

tie it up in a bow

I find my style and pins on Pinterest getting more and more feminine. Blame it on the impending arrival or pregnancy but for a self proclaimed "I'm not a pink girl" girl, I sure have ordered a lot of it lately {I can't stop wearing these pink scalloped flats and I ordered this and this monogrammed in pink}.

When I was little, I don't I ever left the house without a bow in my hair and with my recent increased infatuation with anything girly, I have been found to have added this feminine touch. {What better use for an Hermes ribbon?} If you are channeling Blair Waldorf, I recommend this bow headband, or if you want a subtle touch, I just ordered this hair bow in black, blue and a color to match my hair. Blame it on the baby.
