packing for san francisco

packing for san francisco

I am very excited to be off this weekend to San Francisco! I am looking forward to walking the neighborhoods, catching up with friends and family and dressing for fall.

black maxi

Splendid black maxi dress, currently on sale! // Gap denim vest // Kate Spade jelly sandals // Scarf, from India, similar hot pink scarf  // Celine sunglasses // jewelry, Hermes and David Yurman}

I bought this Splendid black maxi dress soon thereafter discovering we were expecting, thinking that it would be great in the beginning of pregnancy. While it is not a maternity dress and I will wear it long after the baby bump is gone, I have been pleasantly surprised that it has worked every month of the pregnancy with no signs of slowing. Sometimes, a maxi can look and feel like pajamas, so I added my Gap denim vest and hot pink scarf to pull the outfit together. When the weather cools down, I am planning on adding my loafers and a cardigan.

Shop other great black maxis I have found, all under $100. {love this one for $36!}

shop the boutique

Last week, I did a minor upgrade noticed by the boutique button {seen above and on the sidebar} of the navy & orange boutique. Weekly, I update the boutique with recent finds I have come across. Some are luxury items {such as this one}, some are items I have recently purchased and can't get enough of {like these scalloped flats that I just reordered in another color} and some are items that I think are just too pretty not to share {like this blush tote that is currently on the top of my wish list}.

You can also shop with me by registering at www.liketoknow.it and liking my Instagrams to get exact items emailed directly to you and following along on Pinterest, where I also share my shopping finds.

Happy Shopping!

Leopard Throw Pillows

While leopard print is not really in our decor style, I do think that a subtle touch of a leopard throw pillow is overtly feminine and a fun and easy way to change things up in your home. And the unexpected pairings in the above photos are too lovely not to share. {I now find myself needing a purple chair and think that a leopard throw pillow could be so cute and unexpected paired with these purple polka dot chairs, currently on sale!}

J.Crew Excursion Vest

Every year, I post about the J.Crew Excursion vest. And every year it sells out before it even gets cold in San Diego. I have loved my herringbone vest {currently on sale}, but this year, I am debating between this one and this one

All are currently on sale with code SHOPNOW for 25% until August 25th!

{Click here for last year's colors for under $100}

blue pleated

{Dress, sold out and old, similar blue pleated dress  // Chloe Scalloped Flats // Ferragamo Bow Clutch // Bracelets vintage, Hermes and David Yurman // Nails, OPI Mod About You // Lips Nars Lipgloss in Chihuahua }

As seen on Instagram and LiketoKnow.It I wore this outfit a couple of weeks ago for date night. I had originally purchased this dress years ago after seeing Kate Middleton wear it the day after her wedding and had since forgotten about it in the back of the guest room closet.
As the guest room has quickly turned into the nursery and my closet cleaning has become rather efficient, it turned out to be the best maternity dress. I wore it with heels for our 1 year anniversary when the bump wasn't as obvious, but it has proven to be a great go to dress as we grown.

As I have mentioned before, I have not purchased much maternity wear and instead have been on the hunt for things that will work post bump. I have had to get more creative in my shopping, but that is all part of fun, right? I have therefore attempted to keep outfit posts as neutral as possible featuring items that have worked for my bump but that will work for those of you with no bump in sight!

labor day dresses under $100

With Labor Day around the corner, I know y'all are asking the most important of questions: what to wear? Below are some current dresses that I am loving for next weeks long weekend and they won't break the bank! All selections are under $100 and I think they will transition nicely into fall. {Like this gingham dress: think with opaque tights and a black fitted moto jacket.}

worth the wait

I have been eyeing these silver scalloped kitten heels for a while. So imagine my delight when I found them recently on sale and in my size. Needless to say I ordered them right away. But now I have also added these and these to my wish list…

navy decor

Even though we are having a baby girl, navy has found it's way into the nursery in little touches. When I see, wear or want navy, I think classic, nautical and surprisingly feminine {plus it is my favorite and makes up about 90% of my closet}. Shop of my recent navy decor finds below.

outfit inspiration

I think I look at this outfit inspirational picture daily. The soft orchid blazer and that J.Crew endless shirt have me swooning. Even though the growing bump will not allow this look to happen for a couple more months, I have indeed already ordered that shirt in, {you guessed it!}, navy and white. I couldn't help myself.

black and white

I've been having a hard time finding maternity wear that I like, except for these white maternity jeans. So I have been living in soft flowy layers in size up, like this black and white top. And it will look great post baby bump, my goal when "maternity" clothing shopping!
