The Oberoi Amarvilas

I have been Oberoi'd. Whilst in India, we stayed soley at the lovely and luxurious hotels known by the name of Oberoi. They were voted the World's Leading Luxury Hotel Brand and boy, do they deserve it! I have been lucky enough to live and travel all over the World, but have never experienced anything quite like the Oberoi experience.

The Oberoi Amarvilas in Agra is located 600 meters from the Taj Mahal, and all rooms and the lobby bar have views of one of the seven wonders of the world. I was in total awe of our view and the Taj itself and was even moved to tears {dork} upon seeing and then leaving the Taj Mahal.  After a very early morning at the Taj, to which we were transported via golf cart, I meandered back to the Oberoi for a cappucino and a walk around the pool. The pool at this Oberoi is truly unreal. It puts all pools, espeically the ones in Vegas to shame. It became my new inspiration for my dream home as this pool would perfectly punucate a backyard. Taj Mahal not included.

polka dots on polka dots plus navy

How cute is my mom??? I snapped these photos, unbeknownst to her when she stopped by my house the other day. Her outfit was too cute not to feature and I snapped the photos mid phone conversation.

polka dots & navy

classic bootleg

I'm in love with everything about this street style photo; it inspired me to bring my favorite boot  cut jeans to the front of my closet. While it is no secret that navy is one of my favorites and fashion stables, I was still inspired to create an inspiration board taking into account the fab fashion above and my love for any navy outwear. There are not enough words to describe the importance of classic style and fashion stables.

kitchen remodel

It is no secret that I love me a pop of color.
When we first started to discuss this whole kitchen remodel thing, I want/ demanded an all white kitchen that coordinated with the crisp lines of our travertine flooring. As the demolition got under way, I found myself going back to the photo below: a crisp kitchen with a pop of robin's egg blue in the backsplash. The decorator {and the hubby} agreed that this was too girly and didn't flow with the rest of our California rustic house and decor, so I pinned it on inspiration board for another project. While I found a happy medium between the photo below and the photo directly above, I have a weight off my shoulders knowing that all decisions have been made! Now if they would just hurry up and install our new stove...

 It is no secret that I love a good stripe, live in my blazers and have a thing for lipstick. For Valentine's I have found the perfect outfit and managed to incorporate all my favorite things! As seen on Instagram, I wore this striped sequin shirt for New Year's and have been itching for the excuse to wear it again. It It is perfect for one of my favorite holidays and I managed to pair it with a red mani/pedi and my favorite red lipstick.

For day, I paired it with a cozy striped shirt and some loafs.

Happy Valentine's Day!

back from a trip of a lifetime...

Lovers! I'm back from a trip of a lifetime.

While it is the most colorful place I have ever been, I find it ironic that after reviewing many of my shots, that some of my favorites contain the perfect palette of neutrals. India was beyond words and truly an indescribable experience. I wish and encourage all of you to put it on the top of your places to visit list.

I have been truly inspired and there will be many posts in the further dedicated to the best trip of my life {second only to my three week honeymoon in France.}

Thank you to Katie and Julie for contributing while I was away!
