can't believe it's almost February! Valentine's day is one of my favorite holidays, I can never ignore a holiday that encourages chocolate and champagne.

how cute is this top in lieu of the tradition red and pink? too cute with black skinnies!

peter pan collar

I love the look of a peter pan collar. The style is great all year around
and from the office to dinner and drinks.

The one below is a little nicer on the wallet {it is on sale!} and will go great with your
navy blazers {1 & 2} due to the navy scalloped collar!

here is another one I couldn't get enough of!

happy Monday!

I can't get enough of these images: the perfect chair and the most used item in my closet, the navy blazer, that is perfectly accessorized. This is proof that you can never go wrong in navy! If the chair was in a neutral, it wouldn't be as exciting and if the blazer was in a pink, it wouldn't be as elegant. When in doubt, wear, decorate, buy navy!

ps- I have a million navy blazers in my closet {honestly?... 4}, so I don't need another, but if I did... how great is this Rebecca Taylor one, or this one from Topshop?

similiar clutches found here, and budget friendly here and, my personal fav, here!

beach vacation

beach vacation

The hubby recently planned a beach vacation and I couldn't be more excited!
Since we did the non-traditional honeymoon {we both decided that typically, American newlyweds head to a beach and we live next to one}, and had a pretty active honeymoon, this break will be well deserved! Whenever we go on vacation, workout clothes always make it in the suitcase as well as an itinerary. We love being outside and exploring new places, so this vacation, we have already planned to do nothing {maybe a few am trips to the gym..} but hangout, possible with some fruity cocktails {mine with champagne}!

I had too much fun creating the above board. I dislike matching bathing suits and tend to buy a set, then mix it up with other bikinis already in my collection. I love these sandals and wear them whenever the weather permits. And I can't wait for the excuse for a pop of pink in my pedicure!

Do you have any upcoming travel plans?

puffer vest

I can't get enough of my puffer vest.

I know that you are not surprised to find that mine is navy. I find myself wearing it over sweaters, my workout gear {lululemon, the housewife's uniform} and under jackets when I can't seem to handle the California "cold." Yet, I've not thought of over a blazer like the above J.Crew look. I might invest in a brighter one {an orange one, perhaps?} to broaden my puffer look and bring in a pop of color!

two years ago today, the now hubby, gave me the surprise of my life: the most romantic, thoughtful moment and question of my life, that I will never forget: he asked me to marry him! I was beyond surprised and we still joke that I never said "yes!" The photo is of the actual moment {as you can tell, the hubby is very thoughtful and planned for photographers to be documenting the entire thing. sorry! there are tons of better ones, but he prefers to stay off the Internet when he can}. We might have to cheat on our healthy January and have a little champy tonight.

Hope your Monday is full of happiness as well!

the perfect pop of neon

I love the perfect pop of color {as seen here, here and here}. Looking for some of the moment neon, I stumbled across the below necklace and couldn't get enough!

I am captivated with Rocks Paper Metal's etsy store!
I have since been in talks with Rocks Paper Metal and can't get enough of their jewelry trend forecasting site www.RocksPaperMetal.com. Their updates are perfect for this time of year to get ready for the upcoming change of season, Spring 2012, which will be all about the mix and the perfect pop of color!

Don't worry, Lovers! They also have orange pieces!

I also love this classic piece with the subtle pop of blue.

due to my love of champagne {as seen here, here, and here}, the hubby and I are trying to kick start 2012 by taking January off from alcohol. {easier said than done!} We have been having Pellegrino during cocktail hour, making it festive in wine glasses. I should have planned ahead and ordered these gorg Bvlgari ones!

hope your weekend if full of bubbles, any kind!

the saguaro

the hubby and I are looking for a place for a long weekend and we would like a getaway weekend with nothing to do. In my research, I stumbled upon this amazing place in Scottsdale. With an amazing spa, and a poolside that is retro chic, this could be the perfect spot.

and I can't get enough of the decor!

jill stuart

as I mentioned here, I can't get enough of Jill Stuart line for Spring/Summer 2012. Her palette is to die for! Of the moment but utterly feminine. Even if I can't add them to my closet, I will use these advertisements for inspiration for spring additions to my closet.

and can I please have the above yellow ensemble?

New Year's resolutions are overrated. That being said, mine was to eat more vegetables. As a veggie myself, this is not too difficult but I am making more of an effort to include organic, fresh veggies into our diet. I came across an easy side dish that included cauliflower. Enjoy!

for a couple, use one head of fresh cauliflower, cutting up the florets and placing on a pan.
mildly salt, pepper and olive oil and roast for 30 minutes, stirring, turning once.
Add Parmesan and Gruyere cheese* and place back in the oven for 2-3 minutes and enjoy!

{*obvi, the more cheese, the less healthy, yet you still get the credit for eating your veggies!}

shades of gray

This time of year, when you think of gray in your wardrobe, immediately a sweater or something cozy comes to mind. These amazing pieces from Marchesa {above} and Vera Wang {below} are great reminders that grey can be an amazing alternative to black for your next dressy function.
Love them both!

orange decor

how amazing is Tory Burch's apartment? You can tell how the decor of her stores were inspired.  Obviously, loving all the orange!
with tangerine selected the color of 2012, expect lots of orange posts in the coming year!
