lace shorts

I couldn't help but be inspired by these photos of the perfect way to dress up the neon trend: black! I remember how, in college, I used to get made fun of for wearing my favorite purple shorts with heels at night for a change up from the tradition jeans and top. Needless to say, I am glad that this look is still on trend and I couldn't help but want to emulate the above outfit with these shorts {and maybe these!} with this top.

it's all about the attitude

everything about this image is just too cute! I'm inspired by her outfit and attitude!

pops of pink

While I would not call myself a "pink girl" by any means, I can't but help love the bountiful amount of neon pink found everywhere! My fav? The Rebecca Minkoff blazer pictured above and these Tibi pants.

tie dye

Olivia is always a trend setter. For those who know me, you will admit that I might be the last person to be found in tie dye {even more so after Coachella...}, but thanks to Olivia's fashion forward mix of patterns, ever since spotting her in these jeans, I might have to be re-thinking tie dye...

love her navy peacoat!

This weekend I was lucky enough to get out of town and head to the desert. We had dinner and drinks Friday night at the Viceroy. I have driven by it multiple times in my countless trips out there but have never stopped by. I was in love and ready to move in {& is my new inspiration for our backyard}! We have already planned a weekend away there with friends and I can't wait to soak up the chic black, white and yellow decor and desert sun!

How was your weekend?

black and white stripes

saying that I obsessed with stripes is an understatement. I think I own every J.Crew striped top in multiple colors and love mixing them with all my colored denim. I love these photos for their classic mix of black & white and have been eyeing this dress.

You can never go wrong in black, white & stripes, both in your closet and home!

{I've been tweeting some striped finds. Let me know what you think!}

party table

after stalking both London & New York fashion weeks, I am loving the mix of textures, patterns and colors. How great is this table setting that mixes all of the above?

you can never go wrong in pearls

what girl doesn't love pearls? In college, I would strongly attempt to never leave the sorority house without pearls on, in some fashion or another. If I had my ears pierced, I'm convinced pearls would have a permanent residence.

As my collection as grown {my great grandmother's favorite strand, my godmother's gift to me before I moved to the south, a MOH gift from my best friend, a Tahitian strand of black and gray ones from when my parents lived there...}, I can't help but love the classic look that all styles provide. I love this necklace with the traditional look of the pearls but the modern design. A girl really can never go wrong in pearls!

gold & black

{watch here, similar bracelet found here and budget friendly here and here}

I love the combination of black and gold. When in doubt, I always reach for the large section of black in my closet. It is always chic, slimming and in style. Gold has been my favorite choice in jewelry every since my grandmother gave me my great grandfather's ring with an H engraved in gold on black onyx. He was who I was named after, so this combination has a special place both in my heart and closet.

My Hermes H cuff also has a special spot in my heart. While I know {and understand} that Hermes is popular for most girls, I feel like they are made just for me! I've been thinking about adding an orange one in the thicker cut to my collection.

The first photo is a great inspiration for my favorite combination.  My selection includes my grandmother's vintage Tiffany bracelet, H Hermes Cuff, diamond bracelet friendship bracelet with my mom, and an initial stamped bracelet with the hubby's initial.

spring fever

Every year for Easter since I was born, we spend the long weekend in Palm Springs. {I've only missed two years: once when I lived in NYC and once when I was Spain}. The desert is the most fun place to visit and pack for when the weather at home is less than amazing. Brights are strongly encouraged all year around.

I was so thankful to have the long weekend off and utilize the pops of color in my closet versus the scrubs! {I packed this and this.} Thank goodness for Spring Fever and pops of color!

{I've been posting some Spring Fever finds on twitter, as well.}

Mondays are always easier to deal with when Sunday Funday was filled with the perfect Easter brunch with friends and family and a pool party! Hope you are smiling this Monday!

I am in love with purple {as seen here}. I tend to gravitate towards an eggplant as I find that it is a great alternative to navy. Yet, the above photo has me inspired to try more of a lilac for a feminine touch.

Also, I've been on the hunt for a new handbag {as seen here} and this just got added to the list. The color? Hydrangea. perfect!
Worry not. It also comes in shocking pink {and black} and has a matching wallet, that's even available in orange. What more could a girl as for?

is this not the most gorgeous event decorating ever? I stumbled across this here and think that this is the most amazing decor for a special event. And these flowers hold a special place in my heart: they made up my bouquet on my wedding day.
