happy Halloween!

Hope you have many fun things planned for today! We live in the most amazing neighborhood and can't wait for all the trick-or-treaters!

navy blazers

I just love the look of a navy blazer. They are great all year around and truly pull a look together. My go to is the below school boy blazer from j. crew. I bought last year's edition and might need to get a new one. I have literally, almost worn holes in it...

I recently picked up this amazing blazer from Zara. {even better? the name: false plain jacket. so sneaky!} I love that it is the classic black with the blue detailing on the lapel. A navy touch to mix it up!

I recently added a family of pumpkins to the front porch and I love the way they look {orange!}. Without carving them or adding any black, they will gladly be living on the front porch through November.
How have you decorated your pumpkins?

mango sauce

I recently cooked a fish accented by green mango salad. I have always loved mango anything {salad, sorbet or incorporating the color into my closet.} The recipe was not all that simple but it was fun and the taste was worth it and I learned what to do with unripe mangos! {similar recipe found here.} The actual recipe came from the cookbook that was given to us by a cousin as a wedding gift and can be found here!
Also, many recipes will call for a different fish, but as the hubby & I love salmon, that is what I used!
This orange color actually came from a slightly ripper mango and shredding it a tad more vigorously to create a liquid/mush, instead of the strings of mango noted in the first photo.

left overs

I have a hard time figuring out what to do with my left overs. That was until I utilitzed my unused vegtables by putting them in scramble eggs. One of my favorite lunch options!

We recently planted some white garden roses in the backyard and now the front yard is the next project. I am currently thinking that some more white roses with lavender will be the perfect touch.

happy Tuesday!

master mirror

We have been on the hunt for the perfect full view mirror for the master. As the puppy currently is sleeping in the spot I have picked out for it, I have not been in a rush, but I am using this photo for inspiration.

this photo gives a similar look, but sleeker. and I have a feeling the hubby will prefer the decreased frilly details...

What one do you prefer?

morton & hudson

Recently, I was lucky enough to get a preview of the amazing new line of handbags, Morton & Hudson. The line of bags is designed by the sweetest Sydney M. Weinger, a recent graduate of Parson's School of Design and are made of the most divinely elegant leathers and colors. When asked about her first collection, she stated

"With this collection I really tried to showcase the leather and focus on a clean, geometric silhouette that would work in any wardrobe."

How great is the color of the Village bag? That ash color will be great with any outfit. And the leather is as soft as butter.
I can't pick a favorite, but this Marais in jet, is at the top of the list!

this blush color is a perfect neutral and the Kensington is the impeccable mix of feminine flair and masculine structure.

what one is your favorite?

my closet

I recently picked up this amazing shirt.
I've been on the lookout for a while for a chambray shirt. I thought it would be great paired with my brights, as seen here.

Currently, I will be wearing my new shirt with my black skinnies and heels, tucked in for a pulled together look, or with leggings and layered with my favorite cashmere open front vest.

I also love these options.

with neutral knits.

and bright red. I got this amazing hacking jacket for my birthday, so this is my new outfit inspiration.

How do you wear your chambray?

I recently stumbled across a very intensive recipe. I learned new techniques and skills while making the dish, but discovered an amazing gazpacho recipes. I tweaked it a bit.

place the following in a blender or food processor:
4-5 halves tomatoes
1/2 red onion
1/2 cucumber with the seeds removed
a small red bell pepper
1-3 garlic gloves
1/4- 1/2 cup olive oil, depending on how chunky you like your gazpacho
1 teaspoon vinegar
garlic salt, salt and pepper to taste.

garnish with chopped cucumbers, croutons, sliced green pepper and sliced tomatoes.
feel free to make the recipe your own {you can tell I like garlic in mine}.
As the weather cools down, this recipe will be great warmed up as well!
