hot chocolate

The fall is my favorite time of year in our neck of the woods. As the chill sets in, hot chocolate is a must. With our trip to NYC right around the corner, I hope that fall has hit the east coast and that we will have many hot chocolate opportunities.

Happy Wednesday!

If you find yourself in Paris, the best hot chocolate was found at Cafe Charlot! Truly my favorite ever.

skinnies are my go to. I don't even want to count how many pairs I have. I first got turned onto them my second year of college, I was lucky enough to meet up with my dad a bunch in London where it was hard to buy anything but. This fall, I am on the search for the perfect pair of bootleg or flairs. What are you favorite pair of jeans?

I am loving these.

but the skinny lover in me, can't help but want these too!

I hope your weekend if filled with champagne, pancakes and lipstick wearing opportunities!

Happy Weekend!

pops of color

loving these pops of color for the house. I would never think of a yellow couch, but I love it nonetheless.

can I please...

have all these gorgeous neutrals? thanks.
it is the perfect combination of some of my favs: this color palette and J. Crew

The hubby and I are getting ready to head to NYC and I think that I need all these items for the trip. As I used to live there, I know the simplicity of having all black ensembles, but I am currently obsessing with this color palette as seen here.  What item is your favorite?

J Crew sleeveless shift dress, $188J Crew merino sweater, $325J Crew turtle neck sweater, $98J Crew double breasted wool coat, $245J Crew high waisted pleated skirt, $128J Crew crew shoes, $250J Crew chain jewelry, $58J Crew facets jewelry, $88

I love salmon. Not only is it orange, but it has great antioxidants and protein. As a vegetarian who also eats fish, I recently tried a recipe similar to this one and the hubby even noted that it was restaurant quality. Again, feel free to make the recipe your own and add spicesthat you have around or like more than others. I also used some of the amazing French mustard that we brought back from our honeymoon for extra flavor.

navy & white stripes

one of my favorite combinations for your Friday!
I know, it's not navy, but I love the combination with the orange

a selection from my own closet. I wasn't kidding about liking navy and white stripes. you can even see my love of blue and white in our bedspread.

I thought this post was perfect for this Friday: another political event with a Presidential hopeful,  picking up the puppy, then cooking dinner for the in-laws. Happy weekend!

stuffed squash blossoms

I used to live across the street from one of the city's most popular restaurants. I love having my bachelorette pad across from such a chic spot, but I am the obsessed with the new neighborhood and loving our dream house. Yet, their squash blossoms were one of my favorite things, so I had to figure out to fill the need. Last week was perfect timing as the hubby and I stumbled across the Farmer's Market in our neighborhood where they had, what else, squash blossoms!

I found this recipe on line and decided to be ambitious with the attempt. Since the hubby and I love goat cheese, I added some to the ricotta mix and used the spices that I had in the pantry. Feel free to do the same to make the dish your own!
